Director, Business Development

Location: OPEN


The Director of Business Development is responsible for the identification, development and negotiation of National Account agreements; has full responsibility and authority for all sales strategy and execution. Overnight travel of 25 - 40% usually and peak travel of 60% occurring during new account roll-outs.

  • Responsible for identifying, qualifying, and negotiating successful, highly compliant National Account agreements with consideration to all MRO core verticals and procurement services
  • Primary contact for potential National Account customers
  • Negotiates agreements that deliver strong revenue and profits for the company and our Member/Distributors
  • Possess in-depth understanding of customer's MRO procurement processes and needs
  • Ability to sell multi-commodity national agreements, inclusive of our Procurement Services offering
  • Works closely with Sr. Contract Managers and Contract Managers to communicate all key deliverables required to implement a successful agreement
  • Directs and manages the sales effort
  • Develops sales plan with EVP input
  • Works closely with supplyFORCE division management and pricing teams to develop competitive RFP responses yet profitable contracts for Member distributors
  • Builds and maintains relationships with Members to enhance communication, contract performance, and lead generation 
  • Responsible for coordination and completion of all RFI, RFP, and RFQ requests
  • Works with pricing group to insure completion of market basket inquiries as part of RFP/RFQ process
  • Conducts and coordinates capabilities, contract implementation, and other company presentations to customer and distributor organizations
  • Manages travel and entertainment expenses within budgetary allowance
  • Handles any other corporate duties and/or projects, as assigned, for the benefit of the organization
  • Works collaboratively with Contract Management team on cross-sell opportunities and customer re-bids

  • Marketing Assessment & Strategy; create and implement a comprehensive marketing plan to enhance supplyFORCE position and image within the marketplace.
  • Build and maintain digital marketing strategy and social media presence
  • Develop budgets for the Marketing department
  • Ensure consistency internally and externally of all supplyFORCE print and electronic marketing materials including; letterhead, logo, presentations, handouts, website, newsletters, business cards, co-branding, etc.
  • Measure and report effectiveness of marketing programs, publications, and communications.
  • Maintain supplyFORCE website.
  • Manage newsletters including content management & development and design.
  • Create and develop supplyFORCE branded materials, including; Power Point presentations, brochures, cards, etc.
  • Design signage and provide promotional materials for the office, trade shows, and events.
  • Develop, manage, and facilitate manufacturer webinars in GoToWebinar.
  • Work with internal and external resources to plan, coordinate and execute annual National Meeting.
  • Manage registration and coordinate attendance for industry events.

Experience:

  • Minimum five years experience in selling National Account/Integrated Supply agreements on a local, regional, and national level
  • Strong knowledge of industrial distribution and e-commerce
  • Sales and/or marketing account management experience including managing large corporate agreements
  • Project management experience

Minimum two to three years’ experience in marketing or industry served.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Sales and/or Marketing; or 5 or more years related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
